Anobody having the habit of reading clothing blogs and online clothing fora, will be aware that Neapolitan tailors are hot. At an attractive price, they fulfill the popular demand for narrow fit and light handmade constructions.

True, tailors on Savile Row tailors are getting the market too. That I witnessed, when I visited Chittleborough & Morgan in 2011. Joe Morgan, one of two head cutters, told me that younger clients, typically, prefer a very tight waist and skirt. Therefore, they will cut a separate side body instead of using the traditional Savile Row fish cuts in the jacket fronts. With the side body, they can achieve more control and shape through the lower part of the jacket.

Anyway, the Neapolitan interpretation of tailoring seems to be just about right nowadays. If it was possible to put someone in the lead of the Sartorial World, they would come from Neaples, wouldn’t they?
