Clothing and shoes are not just fabrics, leathers, cuts, colours and patterns. They are symbols as well, even though we try to ignore it. Tassel loafers are an example. They encounter resistance from some classic style aficionados, simply because they represent certain lifestyles and classes, say, yuppies of the 1980s or rich old WASPs. Ironically, to others the very same symbolic power makes tassel loafers attractive.
Anyways, in these years unlined tassel loafers in suede are popular during summer. Moreover, if you wear them, you wear them sockless. The Pitti Uomo gentleman above gives an idea.
