Rubinacci from the milanese workshop

I guess that you’ll find no more than 100 men in Denmark, who wear bespoke suits on a daily basis. It is simply not a part of the culture. Among those 100, maybe 10 or 15 dress in bespoke from Savile Row or one of the top Italian houses.

The other day, I had the opportunity to take some photos of a Danish gentlemen, who has several suits from Rubinacci’s milanese workshop in his wardrobe. I think that the cut of these suits looks quite similar to what I have seen from Naples. It seems to be the same soft style with a pronounced shape.

It would be great to see more of such suits up here but I doubt it will happen. Danes are too much traders and protestants too really appreciate fine clothing 🙂

Chittleborough & Morgan on Savile Row

Hidden in the basement of Savile Row number 12, Tommy Nutter tailors Roy Chittleborough and Joe Morgan run one of the lesser known Savile Row firms. Apart from stocking some Gaziano & Gaziano shoe models, Chittleborough & Morgan do bespoke only. You can still detect Tommy Nutter hallmarks like a pronounced shoulder, and a narrow waist and skirt but in general they cut a more discreet jacket today.

When I was there, Joe Morgan showed me two of his suits from the Tommy Nutter heydays. It almost felt like a sacred moment seeing these legendary garments alive just in front of me.
