Nowadays sartorialists are glued to white and sky blue shirts. They claim that they dress in classic fashion. Perhaps they do, but white and sky blue shirts are a very limited use of classic fashion. The pool of possibilities is much larger. In short, we need more fantasy and courage. It could be a cream white shirt, or, like in the present photos, a lemon-coloured shirt.
Mr Barlyng, portrait painter and lawyer, and the gentleman in the photos, pairs the yellow shirt with a bespoke three-piece navy blue flannel suit with peak lapels and a wine red repp tie. All in all, it is a fancy combination, yet a very simple and elegant one.
Break your comfort zone.
